Forecasts

The IESO forecasts demand for electricity in the province and assesses whether the existing and proposed generation and transmission facilities are adequate to meet Ontario's needs.

18-Month Outlook presents the IESO's assessment of the reliability of the Ontario electricity system for an 18-month period.

• 18-Month Outlook: Interim Update (Released: April 29, 2013. XLS: 247KB) tables in spreadsheet format.

The Interim Update provides market participants with updated information for Total Resources, Total Reductions to Resources, Changes in Reserve Above Requirement values and revised Reserve Above Requirement values. Interim Updates are published during each month for which a full Outlook is not being published. Information is updated only for the Planned, Normal Weather Scenario.

Previous Reports

The Ontario Reserve Margin Requirements reports on the operational planning reserve requirements to meet the NPCC resource adequacy design criterion over a five-year window.

IESO Base Case Load Flows model the Eastern Interconnection with a detailed Ontario representation under normal system conditions. These base cases can be provided to Market Participants after signing a non-disclosure agreement. Please send your request by email to Customer Relations.
