Olympic Hockey Powers a Change in Electricity Usage

The power plays weren't limited to the ice in yesterday's Olympic hockey finals. There was a noticeable increase in electricity use in Ontario as people turned on their televisions to watch Canada battle the United States in the men's hockey finals.

High Levels of Reliability for Ontario's Electricity System

Nearly 2,600 megawatts (MW) of new and refurbished supply is scheduled to come into service over the next 18 months, resulting in a positive outlook for the reliability of Ontario's electricity system, said the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) in its latest 18-Month Outlook.
